This is an inertial measurement unit (IMU) using MEMS that can be used for attitude detection of small satellites. This IMU can be utilized as part of a satellite's attitude detection and control system when used in conjunction with external sensors such as solar sensors, Earth sensors, and GPS receivers, as well as thrusters from the propulsion system. The IMU is equipped with a gyro sensor, MEMS accelerometers, and an I2C A/D converter. The accelerometer can be selected to output ranges from 0-2G to 0-50G. The built-in microcontroller controls the output from the IMU, and the output rate can be selected up to 100Hz. Additionally, the form factor is PC104. Furthermore, this IMU can be customized according to customer requirements. For example, it can range from a simple single-axis gyro and accelerometer to a three-axis gyro and accelerometer with redundant sensors mounted on each axis.
